In India existing sites and buildings had to be rapidly repurposed into Covid-19 treatment centres to accommodate large volumes of highly infectious patients. In order to support Covid-19 response infrastructure, the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) developed a set of  Guidelines for the rapid set up of Covid Care Centres (CCC) and Dedicated Covid Health Centres (DCHC). These guidelines were used to set up centres in areas with limited resources and high volumes of Covid-19 cases in India.
